JFK Hospital

Orthopaedic Surgery Residency

Our residents work in a mentorship model with faculty and their teams in a collaborative framework. Beginning intern year, you will be steeped in clinical practice taking call, seeing patients in the clinic, and logging cases in the operating room. Upon graduation our residents will be exceptional clinicians and surgeons armed with the administrative knowledge to begin immediate practice if they choose.

Residents are encouraged to do research and support is provided for all of our residents to conduct clinical and basic science research. You will have one of the largest healthcare databases at your disposal through HCA. Resident travel support is provided to present research at regional and national meetings. So, whether your goal is to go straight into practice, complete a fellowship, or pursue academic medicine, the orthopaedic surgery program at JFK Hospital is here to help you accomplish your goals.

In addition to clinical, surgical and business training, our program provides all of the traditional didactics including weekly grand rounds, monthly journal clubs and M&M, and yearly conferences. We conduct monthly cadaver labs and additional industry support skills labs so our residents can have early and repeated exposure to train and practice surgical techniques
